About Us
Vision
We aspire to be the premier association of women spiritual leaders.
Mission
The International Association of Women Spiritual Leaders was founded to serve the needs of women who are leaders in their spiritual communities, women who have independent spiritual practices, and women who are aspiring to be “spiritual leaders”. It is our belief that women are in the forefront of the global movement toward spirituality.
The Association serves as a bridge between women of all faiths and spiritual paths enabling them to communicate with and learn from each other. It also provides educational topics germaine to the woman spiritual leader.
Rev. Ruth J. Reiner, RN, MA
Ruth, is an ordained minister in the Interfaith tradition, having studied under the guidance of Rev. Diane Berke, now Director of “One Spirit” Interfaith Seminary, formerly Director of “The New Seminary” .
Raised in the Protestant tradition, as a teenager, Ruth attended mass and services in the synagogue with her Roman Catholic and Jewish friends, helping her to have a deep appreciation for the ways in which one experienced their Creator.
As a young graduate nurse, she developed the skill of being present when she was assigned to assist those patients with critical or life threatening illnesses. One of her most memorable experiences, at age 20, had a profound influence on her life.

Patricia L. Selmo, MA
Patricia jokingly calls herself a “survivor” of Catholic school, having attended them from 1st through 12th grades. In actuality she is very grateful for the strong foundation it provided for higher education, spiritual growth and a strong sense of social justice. At a very young age, Patricia became curious about other faiths and began a life-long journey that eventually led her to One Spirit Interfaith Seminary where she is a second year student.
Since she was good in Math and Science, Patricia was urged to go into engineering. Having an interest in flight and the stars, she became an aerospace engineer. It wasn’t long before she realized that this was not a good personality fit! Through a rather circuitous route, she ended up in IT Management and has worked as a consultant in that field for several years.
